Fitting and installation Terms & Conditions

By purchasing our installation service you are bound by the terms below. To ensure your installation goes as smoothly as possible please read the terms and conditions and make sure you are satisfied each point can be met.

1. Cancellations: If you need to cancel or move your appointment we must be notified 24 hours in advance, failing to do so may incur a cancellation fee of £50.00. This applies to all appointments, including scheduled service calls.

2. Equipment: If you have ordered equipment directly from Dashcams ltd or are providing the equipment yourself. You must ensure that all equipment is on site and available for the engineer when he/she arrives. If it is not the installation will need to be cancelled and re-booked, the cancellation fee above would apply.
2a. If you have ordered the equipment from Dashcams ltd to be posted, ensure the items have arrived. If the delivery has been delayed or it has been left with a neighbour we will not know. You need to make sure it is available and on site. Please open your delivery and make sure all items match your order.
2b. if you are supplying the equipment yourself. You need to make sure the equipment to be fitted is on site, available and in working order when the engineer arrives. If you do not have the correct leads and the installation needs to be postponed or cancelled you may be subject to the cancellation fee shown above. This also includes data sim’s for cloud dashcams, Dashcams ltd do not provide these nor provide support for these.
2c. When you provide your own data sim for a cloud based dashcam, Dashcams ltd may configure this or explain how to enter the settings within the camera settings. These are end user configurations and the data service provided is between the customer and the phone network provider and the Dashcam Manufacturer. Dashcams ltd cannot be held responsible for data coverage or signal quality or Dashcam cloud functionality nor can we be held responsible for Data Sim activations for cloud based dashcams. Data sim contracts are between the customer and the Mobile service provider (Lebara, Vodafone, EE, THREE etc), and Sim activation time periods vary between providers. This may take between 24 to 48 hours and therefore dashcam installations with cloud functionality will be installed, configured and local connection explained fully to the customer prior to leaving site. The cloud functionality will start once the service provider has activated the SIM.

3. The installation: When hardwiring your equipment, the engineer may solder or tap onto the appropriate wiring loom or may bring a pre-made loom specific to your vehicle. The pre-made loom may need to be used on your vehicle's OBD port (on board diagnostics port normally found in the drivers footwell) so this must be free of other devices. We reserve the right to change any accessory equipment like dashcam hardwire kits to another model/derivative to ensure that the best kit is installed for the vehicle. The same functionality (or increased functionality) will be gained from the kit.

4. After sales support: Your installation and equipment are covered under separate warranties. The installation is provided with a 12-month workmanship warranty, this is void if anyone other than Dashcams ltd or a third-party contracted by Dashcams ltd alter the installation. If you report a fault within 30-days following your installation we will attend free of charge. If a fault is reported after 30-days you will need to purchase a service call (£75 +VAT +location charge), however, if the engineer finds that the fault is down to the installation (this does not include equipment failure) then the service call will be refunded.

In the unlikely event that the equipment fails within 30-days and it is not something that is easily accessible to return to us i.e. the wiring kit or battery packs which will likely be hidden behind the dashboard. Dashcams ltd will cover the cost of any engineering visits. Dashcams ltd cannot provide free service calls if a piece of equipment has failed after 30-days following the installation, however the equipment is covered under its own warranty and can be returned to us for repair/replacement.

4a. Dashcamera's have user replaceable Memory Card's with a limited lifespan and it is the customers responsibility to ensure these are working, formatted regularly (recommended once a month) and replaced accordingly (recommended replacement 10 months). Dashcams ltd shall not be liable for any loss of video or any associated costs due to a camera not recording video or audio. Camera batteries and Memory cards are deemed a consumable item and carry a 6 month warranty from installation/purchase. Dashcams ltd will replace memory cards and batteries if they develop a fault within the 6 month warranty period.

4b. For vehicles with a Hardwire Battery Monitor installed, 4a also applies when the Battery Monitor powers the cameras down to protect the vehicles battery, should any parking impact occur whilst parked whilst the camera's are off.

5. Additional points:
The price paid includes the items selected at point of purchase, labour and installation indicated on the invoice.

All equipment, parts and sundries remain the property of Dashcams ltd until paid for in full.

Payment Terms: Payment in full on the day of the install, this can be by credit/debit card or via bank transfer.

Installation is available to UK mainland postcodes only.

Installation is covered by a 12 months workmanship warranty.

5a. Faults with the camera or installation will be dealt with by Dashcams ltd. However we cannot be held responsible for issues arising from specific vehicle conditions such as a heated or solar controlled windscreens that blocks or affects the cameras GPS and WIFI signals. Cameras are located on the windscreen in their optimal location according to UK law and windscreen wiper throw. We also cannot be held responsible for any changes in functionality that Tracker, Immobiliser or Dashcam manufacturers make to their app or web functionality. This also includes any cloud services for the product.

The installation is a service and therefore none refundable unless the work carried out is unsatisfactory, if the product (I.E. camera) is faulty we can not refund the installation cost.

You must provide a safe, legal, off road area for the installation to take place. Where necessary you will need to ensure permission of the land owner is received BEFORE the installer arrives and there should be sufficient free parking available for the installers vehicle next to your vehicle.

In poor weather conditions we may have to re-arrange the installation unless you have suitable covered facilities such a double garage or car port.

Radio Reception Interference (DAB, Digital Audio Broadcast)

In a small number of vehicles some cameras can interfere with the radio signal. This is more apparent when the vehicle radio antenna is embedded in a glass window. Due to a number of factors, it is impossible for us to know whether a camera will cause interference until the camera has been fully fitted. Should you experience interference then this may be suppressed (although in certain cases not fully eliminated) by fitting ferrite cores (small clips approximately 1" long) that clip over the cable next to the camera. These clips are extra consumables and are not covered in your original quote (unless already specified) and we may post out the clips for you to clip on yourself. We cannot guarantee that radio interference will be totally eliminated and due to the varied reception throughout the UK we cannot be held accountable for radio reception interference.

Call outs / Returns

Should an issue arise with your camera(s) or product, we may require you to fault find to ensure that we understand where the fault is.

You will be required to have read and understood the manual and also have gone through the FAQ on the website.

If it is deemed that you may have a fault with the camera cabling that we have installed then we will attend on a best endeavour basis and this is not time critical.

If it is found that the camera or product installed itself is faulty and still within the 12 month warranty period, you may be required to return this to us for testing and should do so once you have received an RMA number. The item/camera should be securely packaged with its memory card intact and once an RMA number has been issued, returned to

If a replacement item has been sent and the faulty camera (or product) is not returned to us within 14 days then Dashcams ltd reserve the right to invoice you for the cost of the replacement camera at RRP.

If a faulty product is not returned to us within the warranty period then unfortunately we will be unable to offer a replacement or a refund.

The warranty period of the replacement is 30 days or the remainder of your original warranty period (whichever is greater).
